About Fatima Farooq, MD
Fatima Farooq, M.D., is a family medicine physician who helps patients stay healthy and manage long-term conditions like obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure. Dr. Farooq takes pride in forming long-term relationships with her patients, treating each one like family.
Dr. Farooq earned her medical degree from Shifa College of Medicine in Islamabad, Pakistan. She completed her family medicine residency at the Riverside Family Medicine Residency Program in Newport News. Dr. Farooq is board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Farooq has exposure to both local and international clinical work. She is multilingual, fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi. She also has a basic knowledge of Hindi.
Outside of work, Dr. Farooq enjoys spending time with her family. She values the fact that everything is easily accessible and available in Newport News and surrounding areas.
