About Elisabeth A. Powell, PA

Elisabeth A. Powell, MPAS, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant who specializes in caring for cardiac and thoracic surgery patients. She has advanced training in endoscopic vein and radial harvest — removing blood vessels from the body to reuse during heart surgery.  

She began her medical studies with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin. She later focused on physician assistant studies with a Bachelor of Science from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Virginia, and a Master of Science from the University of Nebraska.  

Elisabeth was guided toward cardiothoracic surgery early in her training by a trusted mentor. She fell in love with the technical challenge of surgery and the amazing abilities of the human body.   

Elisabeth loves music, the ocean, escaping in a good book, experimenting in the kitchen and exploring the world with her husband and two dogs.
