About Barbara E. Simpson, MD

Dr. Simpson earned her medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency with VCU Health System. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

With a women's health practice that includes a combination of low- and high-risk obstetrics as well as gynecological care for teens through postmenopausal women, Dr. Simpson is experienced in a wide range of treatments including management of abnormal pap smears, endometrial ablation and laparoscopic hysterectomies.

Dr. Simpson is married with two young sons. A lifelong equestrian, she has been a horse enthusiast and avid rider since childhood. With a previous career as a senior firefighter and paramedic for York County, Dr. Simpson has always had a passion for utilizing her skills to contribute to the community's safety and well being. Also a Tribe alumna, Dr. Simpson completed her undergraduate studies locally at the College of William & Mary.
