About Ashley Jasmine Walker, CNM

Ashley earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Saint Xavier University Chicago in 2015, followed by a Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2020 from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is board-certified as a certified nurse midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board.

After practicing as a labor and delivery nurse for several years, Ashley pursued midwifery with three goals: to provide education and support to women across the lifespan; to provide care to diverse women amid the national maternal health crisis; and to help women understand and connect with their own reproductive health.

Ashley’s areas of focus include family planning, reproductive life planning and unmedicated birth. A strong believer in shared decision-making, she is committed to providing clear explanations and fostering the transparent discussion of all options. Ashley supports her patients’ right and ability to make safe and appropriate reproductive choices.

Originally from Chicago, Ashley loves the food and beautiful outdoor destinations to explore in Hampton Roads. In addition to professional development activities, she spends her free time enjoying nature, cooking, reading and crafting.
