About Kermit Alvin Lloyd, MD

Dr. Lloyd earned his medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and completed his neurology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Lloyd is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is the director of the Riverside Multiple Sclerosis Center, which provides comprehensive treatment to 1,500 patients.

Dr. Lloyd holds a particular interest in multiple sclerosis (MS) and serves as principal and co-investigator for several current clinical trials. His extensive clinical trial research also includes treatment for Parkinson's disease, stroke, migraine headaches, epilepsy and Alzheimer's disease. He believes the brain is the very essence of who we are and considers it a privilege to be entrusted with the neurological health of his patients.

Originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Dr. Lloyd lives in Newport News with his wife, Alisa, and their two dogs, Zippy and Flurry. When is not working he enjoys experiencing other cultures through travel, gardening and ACC basketball.
