About Joel Verano Mabalot, MD

After earning his medical degree from Far Eastern University in the Philippines, Dr. Mabalot completed an internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship training at Nassau University Medical Center, a clinical campus of the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. Dr. Mabalot is also a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology.

Dr. Mabalot has long been interested in the endocrine system and the very common diseases associated with it. He has a great deal of expertise in caring for patients with a wide spectrum of endocrine-related disorders, such as a diabetes and thyroid diseases.

Originally from the Philippines, Dr. Mabalot is married with four children. His favorite hobbies include singing and playing basketball.

I believe he never looked at my chart before seeing me. He thought I was a new patient even though I had seen him previously. I asked he to write the condition & he said it would be done at check out. Not done. He did not stand or sit facing me during visit - I had to turn in the chair to see him.

I don't feel the physician takes the time to understand the concerns and issues the patient has with the condition and treatment. Doesn't ask questions about what could be happening in the home that is preventing and progress in the treatment. Conversations are always very short and to the point.

He noticed I was not feeling he told me go to the hospital get checked out when he is done so I did they kept me over night thanks everyone
