Riverside Sports Medicine and Christopher Newport University (CNU) have announced the signing of a five-year extension for their sports medicine partnership. Since 2012, Riverside has been the official sports medicine provider for CNU overseeing care for student-athletes on and off the field.

“Over the last decade, our student-athletes have benefited greatly from our partnership with Riverside Sports Medicine,” said Kyle McMullin, Director of Athletics for CNU. “Having partners that care as much about our students’ health and well-being is our number one priority and we are excited to extend our partnership with Riverside to provide exceptional services for our student-athletes.”

The strategic partnership will now extend through July 31, 2027, and ensures that Riverside will continue to staff certified athletic trainers at team events and provide physicians and medical subspecialists away from the facilities- offering on-call service, daily medical coverage, injury evaluation and treatment management.

“Riverside Sports Medicine is proud to extend its long-term partnership with CNU athletics,” said Doug Culbert, Riverside’s associate vice president of orthopedics. “Our highly trained athletic trainers and sports medicine providers are committed to the health and quality of life for CNU student-athletes.”

Riverside Sports Medicine is also the official sports medicine provider for Lionsbridge FC, Newport News Public Schools (NNPS), and Coastal Hampton Roads Volleyball Club.
