Transitional Residency Program

All physicians on the staff at Riverside Regional Medical Center are board-certified or board-eligible in their respective fields. Our dedicated teaching staff is made up of family medicine physicians, emergency medicine physicians, numerous hospitalists / internists, and other specialty physicians.

More than 600 physicians comprise Riverside Medical Group, many of whom participate in our teaching program. The attendings will frequently work one on one with the TY residents and provide a real world look and experience in their field. They teach because they have a desire to do so. The hospital-employed hospitalists serve as supervisors for inpatient care on the internal medicine rotation.

Dr. Minnick is a Riverside emergency physician and has been the TY program director since 2016. He trained at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit after graduating from VCOM.

In addition, he serves as the Medical Director for Emergency Medicine Education and chair of Riverside's Innovations and Privileges Committee. Nationally, he presents on personal finance and emergency department risk management/medical malpractice.

One of his goals for all Riverside residents is to have an advanced understanding of personal finance situation as it relates to young physicians. With student loan burden changing the way residents look at career opportunities, early education can prevent future pitfalls.
