All physicians on the staff at Riverside Regional Medical Center are board-certified or board-eligible in their respective fields. Our dedicated teaching staff is made up of family medicine physicians, emergency medicine physicians, numerous hospitalists / internists, and other specialty physicians.

Approximately 400 physicians comprise Riverside Medical Group, many of whom participate in our teaching program. The attendings will frequently work one on one with the TY residents and provide a real world look and experience in their field. They teach because they have a desire to do so. The hospital-employed hospitalists serve as supervisors for inpatient care on the internal medicine rotation.

Program Director: Nathaniel S. Minnick, D.O.
Dr. Nathaniel Minnick has been the program director for the Transitional Year Residency since 2016. He is a Riverside Emergency Physician and has been active with medical education since joining Riverside. He also is the Medical Director for Emergency Medicine Education.

Dr. Minnick is a graduate of Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his emergency medicine residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit. He lectures nationally on topics of personal finance, and risk management/ medical malpractice. One of his goals for all Riverside residents is to have an advanced understanding of personal finance situations as it relates to young physicians. With student loan burden changing the way residents look at career opportunities, early education can prevent future pitfalls.
