Riverside Regional Medical Center is a 450-bed Not-For-Profit Community Hospital. It is part of Riverside Health System, a network of health care facilities headquartered in Newport News, Virginia. Riverside serves as a referral center for much of the surrounding area, with a level III NICU and full time neonatologists providing care for babies from 23 weeks up. We have a 12 LDR bed L&D Suite with 2 operating rooms for Caesarean deliveries. We have perinatologists available with offices in the hospital for rapid consultation, and we have extensive support in other specialty areas from trauma surgery and radiology to cardiovascular surgery and invasive cardiology. We have full time trauma services available in our emergency department, which opened its newly built 42 bed private facility in June 2004.
Our clinic facilities are off site by approximately 2 miles. These facilities house Riverside's Family Medicine Center, the Pediatric Center, and the Obstetrics and Gynecology clinic offices. There are 13 examination rooms, 2 procedure rooms and 1 Ultrasound room, with supporting staff and conference facilities dedicated for Obstetrics and Gynecology services. The facility was designed from the ground up as an obstetric and gynecology office with procedure rooms for colposcopic exams and Leeps, non stress tests, Hysteroscopy procedures and D&C's.
