Pharmacy Residency

Step 1: Log in to PhORCAS

The application submission deadline is Jan. 3, 2021, using the online centralized application provided by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Residency begins July 1 and ends June 30.

Step 2: Send transcripts and CV

Submit a copy of your professional transcripts, letter of intent, curriculum vitae and three letters of recommendation through PhORCAS.

Step 3: On-site interviews

Selected candidates will interview with the residency team, future mentors, and preceptors as well as have an opportunity to tour our beautiful facilities. Residents will be placed via a two-phase national match system, supervised by ASHP.

Candidate requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree or candidate for graduation from a college or school of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, also known as ACPE.
  • If a foreign graduate of pharmacy, has completed all requirements for equivalency as outlined by the National Association of Board of Pharmacy including Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC®) Certification.
  • Must be eligible for licensure as pharmacist in the State of Virginia. Virginia licensure is required by Aug. 1.
