Chief Medical Officer (Newport News, Va)

Riverside Health System, based in Newport News, VA, is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to play a leading role in the further development of the system's established integrated continuum of care.

Position Summary

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is the leadership position that serves to facilitate communication between traditional health care managers and the clinical delivery team at all locations. He/she is the chief administrative leader responsible for formulating standards of care, the strategic direction for clinical quality and safety within the organization and reports to the CEO. The CMO oversees the Riverside Medical Group, Physician Service Line Chiefs and Medical Education for RHS. The CMO works closely with both administrative staff and members of the medical staff and its leadership to maintain the high quality of medical care and to promote medical staff participation in furthering the mission of the organization. The CMO works to ensure compliance with all quality, legal and regulatory requirements. The CMO works with the leadership of the medical staffs and the various medical facility management teams as well as the medical group leadership to develop and ensure compliance with the RMG physician compact.

The CMO is instrumental in creation and maintenance of Riverside's Community Health Network (employed, independent and academic physicians). Ideal candidates will have robust experience in ACOs, advanced reimbursement models and the design and implementation of clinical protocols.

Education Required

Graduate of an accredited medical school with a MD or DO degree

Completion of an accredited residency with current Board Certification, along with significant management training

Preference is given to candidates with s master's degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration

Specialized Training Required

Advanced training and/or experience in medical management, healthcare law and/or quality improvement preferred

Completion of physician executive leadership coursework and management skills training is expected

Job Summary: The Microbiology and Transfusion Services supervisors work under the supervision of the Director of the Laboratory. The Cytology, Histology and Core Lab supervisors work under the supervision of the Managers in those areas. Each position supervises and manages all technical aspects of the laboratory disciplines contained in the area of responsibility. The supervisor maintains and improves standardized systems to support the accurate, timely and reliable services to patients and healthcare providers. Coordinates accurate and complete documentation, training, accreditation, and inspection process; quality control review and response; annual competency assessments; continuing education and employee performance evaluations for work group. The supervisor keeps procedure manuals complete and up to date. PACE (Program for All-Inclusive Care of the Elderly) is a community-based program which provides patients with all necessary health services while they stay in their homes. It covers many different types of services including a day center, personal care in the home, home based emergency response system, transportation to appointments, delivery of medical supplies, therapy, as well as inpatient services.

JOB SUMMARY: The Day Center Manager works under the direct supervision of the Site Director or Operations Manager with general supervision by the Senior Nurse Manager. A cooperative, supportive relationship between Recreational Therapy staff and nursing staff is necessary and expected to create the optimal environment needed and desired by participants in the Day Center. Responsibilities include supervision of UCPs, including maintenance of competencies and completion of assigned tasks. With Recreational Therapy designs a comprehensive program of activities (to address physical, social, emotional, educational and restorative needs) and developed that honors the participant's needs and requests and utilizes the full capability of the center and geographic area (outings). Oversees volunteers that support the activities of the Day Center. Provides education and direction to team members as needed, acting as mentor to new hires for staff. Attends interdisciplinary care meetings and provide daily participant updates to Universal Care Partner staff as appropriate. Completes assignments for team members working in the Day Center to include assisting with activities, van loading and unloading, maintenance of participant's personal belongings including name badges and wander guards. Ensures that participant's hygiene needs are met, assessment and evaluations are completed as ordered and any and all changes in participant condition are noted and reported to the Clinic team for assessment and possible intervention. Ensures facility's day center is clean and supplies are restocked. EDUCATION: 4 years college course work in Recreation Therapy (or state approved activity course) or Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) required.

Riverside Tappahannock Hospital is a non-profit 67 bed facility caring primarily for citizens in the Tappahannock area, including Essex, King & Queen and King William counties and the Northern Neck counties of Richmond, Westmoreland, Northumberland, and Lancaster. RTH has been recognized for Top Performance in Quality 3 years in a row by The Joint Commission. The laboratory, being a part of the larger Riverside Health System, has new state of the art Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis and Microbiology instrumentation. The department is College of American Pathologist Accredited, and has an annual workload of 140,000 procedures, and growing.

Job Summary:Responsible to the facility Administrator and the Department Medical Director. Functions as the Director and General Supervisor for waived, moderate and high complexity testing with responsibility for the overall coordination and operation of the laboratory services for a 24 hr / 365 day operation. The applicant would directly supervise 11 to 12 experienced Medical Laboratory professionals and one Cardiopulmonary Manager. Responsible for the direction of Cardiopulmonary Department, providing inpatient and outpatient services.

Works under the supervision of the Director, Budget, Reimbursement & Tax. The Manager is responsible for the accurate preparation of the Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, monthly computation of third-party allowances and deductions from revenue, annual Virginia Health Information reports and other reimbursement and statistical information for special financial reports/surveys. The Manager is responsible for the direction of the staff while completing these processes and assuring that the deadlines are met . The Manager works with the employees in the Budget, Reimbursement & Tax section and directs the necessary assignments in order to assure the smooth operation of these processes. Blue Ridge PACE (Program for All-Inclusive Care of the Elderly) is a community-based program which provides patients with all necessary health services while they stay in their homes. It covers many different types of services including a day center, personal care in the home, home based emergency response system, transportation to appointments, delivery of medical supplies, therapy, as well as inpatient services. PACE located in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a full time Senior Nurse Manager.The Senior Nurse Manager works under the general supervision of the Site Director. Responsibilities include daily operational and management oversight of the PACE Center, direct operational oversight of Home Care and Clinic Services and all care provided by nursing staff. Ensures the completion of the initial, six month and annual nursing assessments of participants by registered nurses as well as the development of the nursing Plan of Care (POC) for each participant.
