Riverside Tappahannock Hospital (RTH) has been recognized by the readers of Virginia Living Magazine with a 2017 "Best of Virginia" award.
Readers voted RTH to the second place spot in the "Best Hospital" category
of the Eastern region, highlighted among the award results published in Virginia
Living's May 2017 special edition.
Overall, some 50,000 reader ballots were cast across five voting regions –Central, Eastern, Northern, Southwest and the Shenandoah Valley. More than 1,500 winners were ranked in 106 different award categories, ranging from hospitals and fine dining restaurants to independent schools and bed and breakfasts.
"We are honored to have received this recognition, which is proof that the hard work and continual quest for excellence, is paying off," said Esther Desimini, Vice President and Administrator of Riverside Tappahannock Hospital. "It is especially gratifying to know these awards are voted on by Virginia Living readers –our patients, friends and families who appreciate what the Riverside Care Difference is all about."
The "Best of Virginia" awards are just the latest accolades underscoring the community-minded care and quality service provided by RTH. Last month, the hospital received an "A" Hospital Safety Grade for its commitment to safety from the Leapfrog Group, a leading national organization promoting quality and safety in health care. And in March, CBS 6 highlighted RTH's emergency department and surgical capabilities at dealing with tough emergency cases.
And the good news for Riverside didn't stop there. Warsaw Medical Arts was also voted third place in the "Best Pediatric Practice" in the same Virginia Living poll. This is in addition to winning "Best Doctor's Office" in a recent Northern Neck News Reader's Choice poll.
"This news is certainly motivating to the entire Riverside Tappahannock team and something that we will definitely be sharing with our community," Dr. Richard Dunn, RTH Service Line Chief and physician at Warsaw Medical Arts.
