Riverside Diabetes Services received “Continued ADA Recognition with no provisions” from the American Diabetes Association after a March audit of the facility.
Sites that are audited are chosen at random and are given a two week notification of the upcoming audit. The facility receives one of three decisions following the audit:
-Failure to meet standards and removal of Recognized Status
-Continued recognition with provisions (which must be corrected)
-Continued ADA Recognition without Provisions.
“Riverside is very pleased to receive the top recognition” Janet batten RN, CDE said “because it assures the community that our Diabetes Education Program meets national quality standards for education, training and self management”.
Below is a list of the programs and classes Riverside Diabetes Services offers the community:
-Diabetes Education for the newly diagnosed
-Nutrition Counseling, Hyperlipidemia, Hypertension, Wt loss
-Insulin Pump therapy
-Insulin Pump Support group
-In-services to school personnel-(state law that schools must receive training annually)
-In-services to those who prepare meals for the homeless/indigent at St. Pauls Episcopal Church
-HealthFairs in the Community
-American Diabetes Association Walk-a-thon sponsor
