Williamsburg, VA - Riverside Doctors' Hospital Williamsburg is pleased to announce that “The Doctor is In,” a free, monthly lecture series on health-related topics impacting residents of all ages, has returned for 2019 and will kick off this month on Jan. 24 at 6 p.m.

“We are delighted to bring this popular series back to the community,” said Adria Vanhoozier, Vice President/Administrator at Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg. “Our goal is to connect residents with Riverside providers to discuss the very things that can help us all live healthier, more active lives.”

Each monthly event in the speaker series will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. (with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.) in Conference Rooms A and B at Riverside Doctors' Hospital Williamsburg, located at 1500 Commonwealth Avenue.

Dr. Jared Harrison of Riverside Primary Care Norge will kick off the series on Thursday, Jan. 24 with “Healthy Living in the New Year!” Dr. Harrison, who completed his residency in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative treatment, will present useful, practical information on how to live a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Rory Sandberg of Riverside Orthopedic, Sports Medicine & Physiatry Specialists will present “Doc, My Knee Hurts!” on Wednesday, Feb. 20. Dr. Sandberg, a graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, will lead a discussion about knee pain and treatments for the aging population.

Dr. Scott V. Burgess of Riverside Urology Specialists will present “Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery: Exploring Pioneering Minimally Invasive Surgery at Riverside” on Thursday, March 14. Dr. Burgess, who completed a fellowship in robotic and minimally-invasive surgery at the Tulane University of Louisiana Medical Center, will detail how robotics has helped Riverside pioneer this surgical solution for patients.
