Newport News, VA –Riverside Health System is pleased to announce the following leadership changes taking effect in January 2012.

Wade Broughman, Riverside Chief Financial Officer (CFO), will assume the duties of Chief Operating Officer along with his CFO role.  Wade brings an exceptional and diverse wealth of knowledge to this role with his financial expertise as well as years of operational experience with Health Plan and Health System leadership.  Riverside will be filling the CFO position within the next 6 to 9 months.

Ronnie Matthews, Senior Vice President for Community and Organizational Development,    will become Senior Vice President for Philanthropy for the Health System.   Philanthropy is an area of strong growth for Riverside and one that will require dedicated Leadership and resources to attain the potential giving opportunities within our Communities. Ronnie Matthews with her knowledge of the local community and her leadership within Riverside will help us expand this important and growing part of our System.

Terris Kennedy, Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer, joined Riverside in 2010. She previously held the position of Chief Nursing Officer at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. Terris Kennedy has been promoted to Senior Vice President/ Chief Nursing Officer and will be responsible for Clinical Leadership as well as adding the responsibilities for the School of Health Careers and Customer/ Resident Service.

Faye Petro Gargiulo, Vice President Strategic Development and Marketing, will assume the new role of Vice President Research and Discovery to evaluate our existing research efforts, to expand these efforts and to develop new opportunities for Riverside. Faye Gargiulo will also continue with her leadership of Physician and provider recruitment efforts.

Elisabeth (Liz) Williams will be joining Riverside as our Vice President of Marketing, Corporate Communications and Strategic Development.  Liz joins us from Adena Health System in Ohio.  Prior to joining Adena, Liz Williams spent many years with Bon Secours Hampton Roads and has a strong understanding of the Hampton Roads market.

Steve McCary, who joined Riverside last year and has helped us with Williamsburg Business Development and the Primary Care Service Line, has accepted the role of Vice President/Administrator for Riverside Doctors Hospital Williamsburg. Steve McCary will begin by filling the key roles in administration for Riverside Doctor's Hospital Williamsburg.
