Williamsburg, VA – Riverside Health System held its groundbreaking ceremony on July 12, 2011 marking the beginning of construction of the new Doctors’ Hospital in Williamsburg.

About 230 people attended the ceremony which included remarks from William Downey, Riverside Health System President and Chief Operating Officer; the Reverend William Dawson, Mount Gilead Baptist Church; Alan S. Witt, Chairman of the Health Systems Board of Directors; Clyde A. Haulman, Mayor of Williamburg; Jackson C. Tuttle II, Williamsburg City Manager; Robbert C. Middaugh, County Administrator James City County; and Richard Pearce Chief Executive Officer Riverside Health System.
During the ceremony the artist rendering of Doctor’s Hospital was unveiled. The hospital is scheduled to open in the winter of 2012.
