Newport News, VA- When it comes to delivering quality health care, it doesn't just start and stop with patients, doctors and nurses. Effective and efficient utilization of a complex supply chain is critical to ensuring that quality care is delivered across the health system.

Riverside Health System is pleased to announce that its supply chain and two hospitals were recognized as leaders this summer, earning several industry awards and recognition.

At the Premier Breakthroughs Conference in June, Riverside Health System earned a Supply Chain Excellence Award and a PACER Outstanding Performance Award. Its hospitals in Williamsburg and Tappahannock were recognized as top finalists for the QUEST Award, which salutes high value health care.

Supply & Demand Chain Executive (SDCE), the executive's user manual for successful supply and demand chain transformation, also selected Jump Technologies, Inc. as a recipient of an SDCE 100 Award for 2016 for a project it completed with Riverside Supply Chain.

Riverside Earns Two Supply Chain Excellence Awards

Riverside and two of its hospitals were among 150 health systems and suppliers recognized this summer with 2016 Breakthroughs Awards from Premier Inc. (NASDAQ: PINC) for transforming health care.

Riverside earned a Supply Chain Excellence Award for superior supply expense performance across the health system.

In addition Riverside Supply Chain was awarded the PACER Outstanding Performance Award for participating in 5 projects with over 1M in identified savings.

The Riverside Doctor's Hospital in Williamsburg and Riverside Tappahannock Hospital were named finalists for the QUEST Award for high value health care, which recognizes a hospital for achieving top performance in five of the six areas measured in Premier's QUEST collaborative –cost and efficiency, inpatient and outpatient evidence-based care, mortality, safety, patient experience and appropriate hospital use.

Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 Recognition

Supply & Demand Chain Executive (SDCE), the executive's user manual for successful supply and demand chain transformation, selected Jump Technologies, Inc. as a recipient of a 2016 SDCE 100 Award for a project it worked on with Riverside Supply Chain.

The SDCE 100 is an annual list of 100 great supply chain projects that go on to serve as a guide for supply chain executives looking for new opportunities to drive operational improvements.

"Our goal with 2016's SDCE 100 is to shine the spotlight on successful and innovative transformation projects that deliver bottom-line value to small, medium and large enterprises across the supply chain," said Ronnie Garrett, editor of Supply &Demand Chain Executive.

The Riverside project noted improved the visibility within the supply chain, from internal scheduling, pick-up and delivery of supplies, specimens and other packages, deliveries routed, materials transferred and routes completed. Riverside utilized a solution from Jump Technologies' InnerTrack Intrasite package tracking system to track the movement of  packages within the organization, help automate manual processes, create visibility and document an electronic record of every transaction.
