Newport News, Va.– Riverside Health will host a series of information sessions on new clinical studies for men with prostate cancer starting Nov. 23, 2019.
The 12 monthly sessions will feature speakers from Riverside Cancer Care and Hampton Roads Prostate Health Forum.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men after skin cancer and when caught early can often be treated successfully. An estimated one out of every nine men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime, and it is more likely to develop in older men and in African-American men.
The information sessions hosted by Riverside will give area men an opportunity to learn more about available prostate cancer studies and how to register or enroll in them. Each session will be held at Riverside Cancer Care Center on the main campus of Riverside Regional Medical Center.
The sessions are hosted by Charlie Hill, President and Co-Founder of the Hampton Roads Prostate Health Forum, and Mary Cleckler RN, BS, OCN, Riverside Prostate Cancer Navigator.
The first two sessions will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23 and Saturday Dec. 21. The remaining sessions will be held on select Thursday evenings each month through Oct. 2020.
