Riverside Medical Group is expanding access to care in Isle of Wight County with the opening of the new Riverside Health Care Center Smithfield, located at 1200 Benns Church Blvd. Beginning Monday, December 15, the facility will provide convenient, high-quality primary care services for residents of Smithfield and surrounding communities.
“This new facility demonstrates Riverside’s long-standing commitment to making health care more accessible for families across our region,” said Sally Ryan, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Riverside Medical Group. “By expanding our primary care presence in Smithfield, we’re ensuring that patients have access to compassionate, comprehensive care close to home.”
As the Isle of Wight community grows, so does the need for primary care. Riverside Health Care Center Smithfield is designed to meet that need by providing high-quality, accessible care. And as part of the Riverside network south of the James River, patients benefit from seamless connections to a wide network of specialists, making it easier to access the right care when it’s needed.

The Riverside Health Care Center Smithfield is part of Riverside’s broader investment in the community. On the Riverside Smithfield Hospital Campus, the Jamison-Longford Medical Office Building (MOB) opened in September 2025, and Riverside Smithfield Hospital will open early January 2026. Together, these facilities represent a comprehensive approach to health care and bring the full continuum of services closer to home.
Riverside already serves the Isle of Wight community through Riverside Eagle Harbor Primary Care in Carrollton, Riverside Physical Therapy Cypress Run, Riverside Lifelong Health & Rehabilitation Smithfield and other practices located in the MOB.
