Lindsay Elizabeth Borden, MD
Lindsay Borden, M.D., is a fellowship-trained gynecologic oncology surgeon, board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Borden specializes in treating gynecologic cancers with robotic and minimally invasive surgical techniques. Her experience includes treating endometrial, ovarian, cervical and vulvar cancers. Dr. Borden values a collaborative approach, working closely with various care team members to provide the best experience for her patients.
Dr. Borden earned her medical degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and completed an OB-GYN residency at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke. She completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Oklahoma Stephenson Cancer Center in Oklahoma City. She received recognition throughout her training for her excellence in patient care, teaching and research.
Dr. Borden has a special interest in the role genetics plays in endometrial cancer risk and recurrence. She enjoys using her teaching and research experience to provide compassionate care using the latest medical advances. To ensure her patients feel comfortable with their diagnosis and treatment plan, Dr. Borden encourages them to ask questions, providing them with valuable information and empowering them to participate in their care. Originally from Massachusetts, Dr. Borden now resides in Virginia with her family. She enjoys hiking, exploring local beaches and reading great books.

Matthew John Tompkins, M.D.
Matthew J. Tompkins, M.D., is a board-certified urogynecologist specializing in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Tompkins earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where he served as chief resident. Before his medical training, Dr. Tompkins earned a Bachelor of Arts in zoology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is board certified in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Tompkins is passionate about helping women with pelvic floor disorders. His philosophy is to listen carefully and work with patients toward a personalized plan of care that helps them improve their quality of life. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Tompkins looks forward to exploring our area’s bike trails and beaches. When he’s not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, cheering on his favorite football teams, swimming, skiing and playing basketball.
Renee Morales, M.D.
Dr. Renee Morales is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with 19 years of experience providing comprehensive women’s healthcare. She will join Riverside in August 2026 as an Associate Director of the OB/GYN Residency Program.
Dr. Morales received her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2007 and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology through Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Greenville Memorial Medical Campus/Hospital System.
She specializes in both obstetrics and gynecology, caring for women throughout all stages of life, from routine preventive care to pregnancy, delivery, menopause, and beyond. Her extensive experience allows her to provide expert guidance and compassionate care for a wide range of women’s health needs.
Dr. Morales has been board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2013.
Kevin D. Stocker, M.D., FACOG
Dr. Kevin D. Stocker is a board-certified OB/GYN since 1995 and Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He will join Riverside in late July 2026 as an Associate Director of the OB/GYN Residency Program.
Dr. Stocker specializes in the full scope of women’s health, caring for patients from the teenage years through the reproductive years, menopause, and beyond. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques and will perform robotic surgeries at Riverside Regional Medical Center.
Raised in a military family, Dr. Stocker has lived all over the world. He received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Magee-Womens Hospital, where he also served as Chief Resident.
In his free time, Dr. Stocker enjoys taking care of his two hound dogs, hiking, and kayaking.
