Welcome to the Riverside Advanced Ultrasound Fellowship Program!
The Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound (AEMUS) Fellowship at Riverside Regional Medical Center is a one-year multi-specialty program that trains leaders in the field of point-of-care ultrasound by establishing technical expertise, developing, and improving teaching abilities, and developing research skills.
Unique program highlights include:
- The first formally established Emergency Physician run regional anesthesia service that serves patients across the healthcare system (ED, ICU, General Medical Floors, etc.).
- We are also one of the few programs in the state/nation that currently offers resuscitative transesophageal echocardiography (rTEE) training.

- 1 Sonosite Px
- 1 Sonosite ST
- 2 Sonosite X-Portes (expected to be replaced shortly)
- T8-3 Transesophageal Echo Probe
- UHF 46-20- Ultra High Frequency Probe
Graduates of this fellowship are prepared to sit for the AEMUS Focused Practice Designation Board Exam via the American Board of Emergency Medicine and/or obtain a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer designation. They are well positioned to pursue academic or expert positions, such as Emergency Ultrasound Director or Fellowship Director.
