Charitable giving options
Generous gifts help to improve patient care services, purchase equipment and support the cost of building new facilities. Contributions to our Endowment Funds help to support the future of Shore Health Services.

If you itemize your taxes, you may deduct your gift of money or goods to any Shore Health Services entity on your federal income tax return. Most charitable gifts are completely exempt from gift and estate taxes.

Members of our Development office would be happy to discuss with you the contribution of any of the following:

• A one-time cash gift
• Appreciated, marketable stocks or securities
• A pledge with payments spanning several years (payroll deducted or direct)
• Closely held securities
• Real estate (mortgaged or unencumbered)
• Life income plans such as charitable remainder annuity trusts, pooled income funds, and gift annuities
• In-kind items or services in-kind (works of art, equipment, etc.)
• Charitable remainder lead trusts
• Matching gifts from your employer
• Life insurance pledges
• Bequests

Payroll deduction, United Way, Combined Federal Campaign, and Combined Virginia Campaign
Shore Health Services is grateful for generous annual support from people who contribute through workplace payroll deduction.

Matching Gifts
Matching Gift programs are offered by many employers to contribute corporate money to causes that are important to the company's employees. For each dollar the employee contributes, the employer also contributes a specified percentage, dramatically increasing the impact of the employee's gift.

Contact your company's Human Resources Department for a Matching Gift form, fill it out and mail it to the Shore Memorial Hospital Development Department, P.O. Box 17, Nassawadox, VA 23413.

As Shore Memorial Hospital continues to provide excellent healthcare, we must also plan for the future. Planned Gifts play an important role in building a solid future for our community's healthcare needs.

Planned giving opportunities, such as life insurance policies in which Shore Health Services is named as a beneficiary, gift annuities, trusts, and bequests of cash, stock or real estate are also encouraged.

Shore Fest
Shore Fest combines fun and fitness to raise funds for Shore Memorial Hospital's cancer services. We invite you to join us each spring by participating in one or both of the Shore Fest events — a golf tournament, followed by dinner. This year's event occurred on May 1.
