Let the ADA-certified Shore Diabetes Center help you take control

Although there is no cure for diabetes, you can live a full and active life with it. The keys are control and self-management.

At Shore Diabetes Center, we work closely with your primary care doctor to help you learn about and manage your diabetes. We can:

  • Teach you how to control blood sugar levels and lose extra weight by adopting a healthy diet.
  • Help you increase your physical activity in a way that’s beneficial and enjoyable.
  • Tailor a program of testing and medication management to your individual needs.
  • Help you get the emotional and community support you need to handle stress as you adapt to your new lifestyle.

Patients can be directed to Shore Diabetes Center by a doctor, they can self-refer, or they might just walk in.

“If you have diabetes and you want to get it under tighter control you’d come to the center,” said Terri Long, Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital’s diabetes coordinator.

The facility is located on the hospital’s first floor, on the same site as the prenatal center. Hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and other times by appointment. Whenever you want to come, it's a good idea to call ahead.
