Basic Urinary Tests
Your primary care provider may recommend a variety of basic tests to help diagnose your urinary condition. Depending on the results and your symptoms more in-depth tests may be ordered and you may be referred to a urologist.
Urinalysis
Urinalysis is a test that evaluates a sample of your urine to detect and assess a wide range of disorders, including:

Urinary tract infection
- Kidney disorders
- Diabetes
Bladder Diary
If you are experiencing incontinence, your doctor may ask you to keep a bladder diary for several days. You record how much you drink, when you urinate, the amount of urine you produce, whether you had an urge to urinate and the number of incontinence episodes.
