If you stay overnight at Riverside Regional Medical Center, Riverside Walter Reed Hospital or Riverside Tappahannock Hospital, your care will be managed by a hospital physician called a hospitalist.
A hospitalist is a physician who specializes in caring for patients during an inpatient hospital stay. When admitted to a Riverside hospital, the hospitalist works with you and your primary care physician to coordinate your care until you are discharged.
There are several advantages to having a hospitalist manage your care:
Because our hospitalists are on site around the clock, they are able to closely monitor your condition and make treatment, testing or medication adjustments quickly.
Your hospitalist is available to answer questions and communicate with your family.
When you are discharged, our hospitalist will coordinate your care with your primary care physician to ensure a seamless transition back to outpatient care.
