Depending on the cause of your hip pain, there are several treatments you can do at home to help relieve the pain. Discuss how to care for your hip with your doctor.
Your home care might include:
- Rest your hip from overuse
- Use non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications for pain
- Get enough sleep each night
- Gentle regular exercise that is gentle on the hip such as swimming or stationary bicycling
- You may need to use a cane to reduce pressure on the hip joint
