Riverside offers a variety of classes and other programs for mothers-to-be and their support persons.

Expectant Parents Tour
Parents-to-be can preview the birthing rooms, delivery suites and nurseries at Riverside Regional Medical Center during our weekly Expectant Parents Tours. You’ll have the opportunity to meet our staff members, speak to one of our anesthesiologists and ask questions about having a baby at Riverside. The free tour lasts about an hour. Reservations required.

Big Brothers & Big Sisters Tour
For brothers- and sisters-to-be, this presentation is held in conjunction with the Expectant Parents Tour. The Big Brothers and Big Sisters program includes a story and demonstration of taking care of the new baby and a tour of where mother and baby will stay while in the hospital. Reservations required.

Childbirth Preparation Course
These classes offer comprehensive information on pregnancy, labor and birth, as well as relaxation and breathing techniques. Mother-to-be and her partner explore the many choices available to make their birth experience personal and positive.

Dyna-Mom Exercise Program
Here's an easy, effective way to stay fit throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period. Moms-to-be and new moms with infants are included together to participate in this fun, safe, exercise class.

Nutrition Counseling For Good Health
Proper nutrition is important throughout your life but especially crucial during pregnancy. Changes that occur in your body may require you to follow a specialized diet to better manage diabetes, high blood pressure or other conditions. Private nutrition counseling can teach you to follow new eating habits while, at the same time, to keep the "spice" in your life.

Massage
A woman’s changing body during pregnancy is wonderfully natural. And yet, pregnancy by its very nature can add stress to the body. You’ll discover massage can relieve some common discomforts of pregnancy like aching muscles, backaches, swollen ankles, sciatica and fatigue.

Baby Care Class
You are counting down the days to your baby's arrival. What an exciting time! In our 2-hour Baby Care Class, expectant patents will become familiar with many aspects of daily infant care. This includes bathing, diapering, feeding and helping to keep your baby safe. Come join this rewarding class in preparation for taking home your baby.

Breastfeeding Class
Breastfeeding is natural, but there are skills to be learned that can help promote successful breastfeeding. In this 2-hour educational class, our Lactation Consultant will help familiarize expectant parents with the knowledge and skills they need to get Breastfeeding off to a great start.

Preparation for Cesarean
This two hour class has been designed for the expectant couple who knows that their baby will be delivered by cesarean. In this class you will take a closer look into what to expect during a cesarean birth.

Comfort Measures
In this two hour class, you will learn a variety of comfort measures and coping techniques for labor.
