Patient and Family Support
The Peninsula Cancer Support Group (PCSG)
For more than twenty years, the Peninsula Cancer Support Group has provided support to cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones.
The group meets twice monthly. On the first Wednesday of the month there is an informational session and on the fourth Monday of the month, a support group meeting.
PSCG Information Sessions
Each month, a guest speaker discusses a cancer-related topic. The topics vary and include wellness forum-resources and tips, nutrition, stress management, cancer treatment advances and insurance and tax issues. Often a physican will address medical questions. The meetings are open to the public.
PSCG Support Meetings
To allow those affected by cancer to voice concerns in an open and comfortable atmosphere, support meetings are separated into two groups, one group for patients and another for loved ones. The groups meet simultaneously. Facilitated by healthcare professionals, participants share questions, experiences, feelings and successful coping strategies. Support meetings are open to anyone who has had a cancer diagnosis or is supporting someone through diagnosis, treatment, or survivorship.
