Riverside Rehabilitation Center at Sanders

Guests of the Riverside Rehabilitation Center have a true sense of community, while maintaining focus on recovering and returning home after hospitalization for surgery, illness or injury.

Transitions between a number of acute care hospitals in the area, our own Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, and the Rehabilitation Center are made smooth by the ready access our medical professionals have to records and guest information.

Modeled after Riverside Rehabilitation Institute's highly regarded programs, the Center is overseen by Board-certified physiatrist Mark Ross, MD, a rehabilitation medicine specialist. A talented team from the Riverside Therapy Group provides physical and occupational therapy up to three hours a day, six days a week. Therapists utilize a specialized therapy gym with the latest equipment, plus a simulated kitchen and bathroom to help rebuild the skills necessary for returning home. Speech therapy is also available for those needing improvement in speech or swallowing.

Though most rehabilitation is completed in 7 to 20 days, the highly personalized attention each guest receives—we have a maximum of 15 guest accommodations in the Center—often leads to connections with therapists that last long after discharge.
