Riverside is transforming nursing care. Through a revolutionary concept known as the Household Model, we are replacing “institutions” with authentic homes while providing high quality clinical care and other supportive services. Riverside will be the first in Virginia to offer this wonderfully positive, freestanding Household Model of care, right here at Sanders.

We are building two freestanding households—one to provide long-term nursing care and one to provide short-term rehabilitation. Designed like traditional homes, our households will boast private bedrooms and bathrooms, comfortable dining and living areas, and a resident-friendly kitchen that will serve as the heart of the home. Most importantly, our households will support the lifestyles and choices of the individuals living in them.
