Dr. Young and Dr. Crowder

2010 marked a year full of changes for Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. Most notably, the hospital said goodbye to two of its founding physicians; both of whom retired the latter half of the year. Dr. Richard Crowder and Dr. Tom Young have been serving the Gloucester community since Riverside Walter Reed Hospital's inception in the late 1970s. As they faced retirement, both Doctors were flooded with an overwhelming sense of gratitude towards the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck communities. Collectively they served the community for over 64 years and made a difference in the lives of thousands of people. Both are humbled and forever thankful to the Hospital and the community that gave them the chance to dedicate their careers to healing, helping and caring for the needs of others. Dr. Crowder and Dr. Young take solace in the fact that Riverside Walter Reed will continue the tradition of excellence that marked their careers; and that their beloved patients will be left in good, capable hands. They know Riverside will continue their legacy of recruiting the best doctors, investing in cutting edge technologies and serving this community with true commitment, compassion and love.
