Riverside Health System, a private, not-for-profit health system, is the parent company of Riverside Walter Reed Hospital which was opened on September 13, 1977 as Walter Reed Memorial Hospital. Since 1977, Riverside Walter Reed Hospital has grown into a diverse and comprehensive community hospital providing state-of-the-art technology and a professional and caring staff. Riverside Walter Reed Hospital provides a full range of primary and secondary services including inpatient, outpatient and home based services. Services include: Emergency Center, Inpatient and Outpatient Surgery, Laboratory, Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, C.T., M.R.I. (mobile), and Mammography. Additionally, Home Health, Hospice, Dialysis, Physical Therapy, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine, Stress Testing, EKG anda Medical Office Complex are part of the campus.

The RWRH campus completed an extensive renovation and expansion that has improved our ability to provide patient care services. Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Medical/Surgical Unit have both been renovated to improve the staff's ability to provide patient care. Many of our improvement efforts focused on our outpatient services withan emphasis on patient and family privacy and involvement. The three year renovation and expansion included the following improvements to the campus: Medical Office Building Addition, New Emergency Room, New Ambulatory Surgery Department,New Laboratory, Expanded Radiology Department. Additionally to better serve the citizens of the Middle Peninsula and improve access to our campus, we expanded ourparking facilities and added a new access road from Main Street.
