Charles Revere
Chairman, RTH Board of Directors
The Middlesex Rotary Club has elected Charles and Sally Gayle Revere as Pride of Middlesex for the 2012 year.  Charles Revere, a native of Middlesex, graduated from Middlesex High School.  He attended the University of Richmond, where he played baseball (All Southern Conference pitcher for three years) and met and married Sally Gayle Shepherd.

Upon return to Middlesex, Charles joined Revere Gas.  His father started Middlesex Bottle Gas in 1942 by delivering bottled gas from Richmond to a few Middlesex customers.  Now Revere Gas serves customers in seventeen counties from six locations. Revere Gas is a family business.  Sally Gayle is Secretary/Treasurer and for many years she handled the payroll.  Both sons of the Reveres, Craig and Carlton, work for the company but their five grandsons are a little young yet for employment.

The Pride of Middlesex Award was established in 1997 by the Vocational Services Committee of the Middlesex Rotary Club.  This award is given to an individual, family or organization in the county that has made an exceptional contribution:  giving “Service Above Self” to Middlesex County, the Commonwealth of Virginia, or to the nation.

Riverside is honored to have Charles Revere serve as Chairman of the Board at Riverside Tappahannock Hospital (RTH) as well as board member of the Riverside Health System and congratulates Charles and Sally Gayle for their well deserved recognition.
