Stroke - Daily Schedule Example
The following is an example of a typical weekday in the program. However, each patient has an individual treatment plan and schedule.

7:00 a.m. |
Patient dressing, grooming, hygiene begins – with the assistance of occupational therapy and rehabilitation nursing. |

8:00 a.m. |
Breakfast. A dietary plan will be specifically designed by a registered dietician through a nutritional assessment. If the patient has a swallowing disorder a speech pathologist, occupational therapist and rehabilitation nurse will work together with the patient in a swallowing/feeding program. (All meals have a specific dietary plan.). |

9:00 a.m. |
Stroke rehabilitation sessions consisting of varying levels of physical, occupational, speech, cognitive and recreational therapy. |

Noon |
Lunch |

1:00 p.m. |
Therapy sessions resume. The patient may also be involved in psychological or pastoral care services. |
|
5:00 p.m. |
Dinner |
|
6:00 p.m. |
Leisure time. Optional therapeutic recreation activities. |
|
8:30 p.m. |
Visiting hours end and patients are assisted by rehabilitation nurses with hygiene and grooming tasks. |
Note: We have more experience in stroke rehabilitation than any other facility in eastern Virginia.
