The following is an example of a typical weekday in the program. However, each patient has an individual treatment plan and schedule.
| 7:00 am | Patient dressing, grooming, hygiene begins – with the assistance of occupational therapy and rehabilitation nursing. |
| 8:00 am | Breakfast. A dietary plan will be specifically designed by a registered dietician through a nutritional assessment. If the patient has a swallowing disorder a speech pathologist, occupational therapist and rehabilitation nurse will work together with the patient in a swallowing/feeding program. (All meals have a specific dietary plan.). |
| 9:00 am | Stroke rehabilitation sessions consisting of varying levels of physical, occupational, speech, cognitive and recreational therapy. |
| Noon | Lunch |
| 1:00 pm | Therapy sessions resume. The patient may also be involved in psychological or pastoral care services. |
| 5:00 pm | Dinner |
| 6:00 pm | Leisure time. Optional therapeutic recreation activities. |
| 8:30 pm | Visiting hours end and patients are assisted by rehabilitation nurses with hygiene and grooming tasks. |
Note: We have more experience in stroke rehabilitation than any other facility in eastern Virginia.
