How We Compare
National "Performance measures" to which Riverside and other hospitals hold ourselves accountable are established by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) based on an evaluation of clinical guidelines that when followed, yield the best medical outcome for patients of all ages. They apply to the most common conditions requiring hospital treatment and exist only for care received in "acute care" or hospital settings. You may have a condition for which standard measurement criteria doesn't yet exist. Please contact us if you need information not available on this site.
Comparing Results
Hospital Quality Alliance (HQA) is a national organization whose mission is to implement the standardized performance measures (noted above), and to develop a unified approach to measuring and reporting results. It is comprised of more than 350 organizations representing consumers, health care professionals, physicians, health systems, insurers, state governments and federal agencies.
Hospital Compare is the publicly accessible web site administered by the Hospital Quality Alliance, where quarterly, over 4,000 hospitals including Riverside, voluntarily report "performance measurement" results. You can use this site to see how hospitals perform or compare results among hospitals.
We know you have a choice in where to receive care. Riverside provides some of the best medical outcomes possible, and we're pleased to make the following performance measurement results and comparisons available to our community:
