Accreditations
What It Means to Be Accredited
An "accredited" designation means an organization or program achieves a certain level of operating performance meeting nationally specified standards for quality and safety.
The Joint Commission, an independent, not-for-profit organization founded in 1951, is the leader in developing the highest standards of quality and safety measures in health care, and in evaluating organizational performance based on these standards.
Today, more than 18,000 health care providers including Riverside, use Joint Commission standards to guide how they administer care and continuously improve performance. The Joint Commission is the only accrediting organization with the experience and capability to evaluate health care organizations across a continuum of care. Some state governments and national professional associations also offer accreditations or certifications within their specialized field of medicine.
Riverside Accreditations
Obtaining Joint Commission or other state or association accreditation or certification, is a rigorous and often lengthy process involving demonstrated staff training, clinical proficiency and on site diagnostic and treatment capabilities that meet the highest standards of care.
