Dr. A. Goodman received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Richmond, Virginia. He received his second Bachelor of Science degree in Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1979. He received his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1982. He has been a Preceptor for the Pennsylvania College of Optometry since 1992.

Dr. A. Goodman has served as a member of the Tidewater Optometric Society and has held all offices including president. He served on the Executive Committee of the Virginia Optometric Association from 1994-1997. He served on the Executive Committee of the Virginia Academy of Optometry from 1994-1995.

Dr. A. Goodman has been in private practice in Hampton and Newport News, Virginia since 1982. He is Certified by the Virginia Board of Optometry in Ocular Diagnostics, and is Certified by the Virginia Board of Optometry in the administration of Ocular Medications. Dr. A. Goodman is another valuable member and asset of the Hampton Roads Eye Associates "Team".
