Hospital Accommodations
Because patients remain in our hospital for an average of 25 days or more, we have the opportunity to really get to know each patient, their family members and friends. You'll stay in one of our beautifully furnished private rooms, each equipped with the latest monitoring devices. When not providing hands-on care, your nursing staff is just steps away at all times.

Personal Belongings
During your hospital stay, you may wear your own clothing that is appropriate to patient care or you can wear hospital-provided gowns. Your personal belongings will be your responsibility.

We realize you have valuable items such as eyeglasses, dentures, contact lenses, etc. that you must have with you during your stay. Please take special care with these items during your stay by placing your dentures in a denture cup and your glasses or contacts in their case when not in use. It is best to place these items in the drawer by your bed. We encourage you to send other valuables home with a family member or ask the nurse for a Valuables Envelope for safekeeping.

Medications
While you are at Hampton Roads Specialty Hospital, your doctor will order all medications – even those you routinely take at home. Your nurse will administer all medications. If you brought medications from home, please notify the nurse. At that time, the medications can be sent home or stored in the hospital pharmacy.

Meals
Meals will be served on your unit during the following times. If you are away from your room due to therapy, testing or other treatment, we will arrange for you to have your meal when you return.

No Smoking Policy
Hampton Roads Specialty Hospital is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the campus.

Your inquiries give us an opportunity to address your concerns, correct possible problems and recognize staff members who are doing a good job.
