Blood type diet: Does it offer health benefits?

Question

Is there any merit to the idea that people should eat and avoid certain foods according to their blood type?

Linda
Illinois

Answer

No. The so-called "blood type diet" suggests different diets for different blood types based on the theory that each blood type interacts with foods in a unique way. However, there is no scientific evidence that shows the interaction between blood type and diet has any influence — positive or negative — on weight or overall health.
