Make a Difference This Holiday
My grandmother used to say, “Many hands make for light work” and I have seen first-hand how extraordinary things happen when people come together for the good of helping others. Your tax-deductible gift will help some of the most vulnerable of our neighbors and friends — those that are sick and injured. Your generosity will make a difference and together we will make a difference in the lives of many!
As the holidays approach, like you, I start to think about how I can best express the love and gratitude I feel for the people who make a difference in my life —but do it in a meaningful way that reaches beyond the holiday season. There may be people in your life who might truly appreciate having a donation made in their name—a donation that will help others in need right here in our own community.
That’s why I’d like to tell you about Riverside Tappahannock Hospital’s (RTH) Make a Difference Fund. As a donor, you already know that every penny given to this holiday-inspired fundraiser goes directly to help someone in desperate need. Imagine a single mother having to choose between paying her rent and her chemotherapy treatments. Imagine an ailing grandmother having to choose between groceries and her medications. Imagine a young man needing rides to and from physical therapy but not being able to afford it. When all other resources have been exhausted and there was nowhere else to turn, The Make A Difference Fund has helped many in situations like these.
Now, I am turning to you and other caring friends in our community asking for your help. Your generous donation of $50, $30 or even $25 dollars can go a long way in making someone’s life a lot easier.
Your donations are needed now more than ever! Last year the hospital provided over $6 million dollars in charity care to those that did not have the ability to pay for their medical care. Year after year, as a not-for-profit hospital, RTH has shown its commitment to help everyone in our community. However, the hospital can’t continue to do it alone—your help is needed. That’s what community is all about—pulling together to help one another.
This holiday, I hope you will join me and make a donation in honor or memory of a loved one, a caregiver or someone special by giving a meaningful and lasting gift to the RTH Make A Difference Fund. Whether you make a donation instead of purchasing a traditional gift or as an addon, this is a truly thoughtful opportunity to spread a message of cheer and charitable giving during the holiday season. To show thanks, the hospital will send a personalized Holiday Card to those you choose to honor. Imagine the joy they’ll feel when they realize they were the inspiration for your gift: a gift that will help others in such a profound way.
