Grantees

Since its creation in 1999, the Riverside Health System Foundation has served, as a flexible and responsible leader in addressing the critical and changing health needs of the community.  The Foundation's grant making, capacity building, leadership and convening activities challenge us to develop strong collaborative relationships with local agencies and organizations that share our vision for a healthier community.

Through our growing grant making program the Riverside Health System Foundation is helping to strengthen the existing community-based nonprofits and to establish new programs that are critical to addressing some of the most pressing health needs in our region.

Spring 2008 Grant Awards:

  • Historic Triangle Senior Center: RIDES Program
  • Peninsula Agency on Aging: Senior Outreach Services (S.O.S. Program)
  • Rx Partnership: Medication Access Program- A 5year partnership level grant
  • Newport News Sheriff's Office: Project Life Saver Program
  • Greater Peninsula Free Clinics Consortium: Chronic Care Program for Uninsured- 2year grant
  • Riverside Prenatal Education Program for Medicaid/Uninsured Patients
  • Establishment of the Riverside Medical Group Leadership Scholarship at Christopher Newport University

  • Alzheimer's Association: Pathways to Hope - Prevention, Awareness and Family Education/Support Program
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula: Smart Smiles Dental Program
  • Tappahannock Free Clinic: Primary Care for the Uninsured
  • Downtown Hampton Child Development Center: Inclusion Health Improvement Program
  • Three Rivers Healthy Families: Prenatal Program for "At Risk" Families
  • An Achievable Dream, Inc.: The "What it Takes" Career Development Program
  • Olde Towne Medical Center: Dental Clinic for Under/Uninsured
