Exercise isn't just important to your overall health and wellness. It's essential. Regular exercise improves both physical health and psychological well-being and is the key to combating a wide range of chronic illnesses and conditions. And for Riverside employees there are number of opportunities out there to support our commitment to exercise, your interests and your needs.
You'll find employee wellness options ranging from A (aerobics classes) to Z (zumba classes) along with line dancing, walking, mindfulness-based stress reduction, weight loss (including the highly successful Dietcise program) and the extensive services and programs of the Fitness Centers. And don't miss these opportunities:
Wellness Web Chat, June 20, noon to 1pm
Amy Williams, PTA and Kelsey Holloman, BS, ACSM-HFS will discuss "Exercising to Prevent Injury." This free web chat focuses on the need for exercise regimens to include stretching and strength training – along with cardiovascular components – in order to maintain range of motion, increase muscle mass and mobility and decrease the risk of future injury.
Free Fitness Friday
The first Friday of each month is your opportunity to use the extensive resources of our two Riverside Wellness and Fitness Centers – for free. You can also bring a guest but standard guest fees will apply.
Free My Health Lifestyle Fitness Center
Located on 2 Annex on the Riverside Regional Medical Center (RRMC) campus, this new facility is open to all Riverside employees 24 hours a day.
Free Gym and Courts Use
The gym and court facilities at Riverside Behavioral Health Center in Hampton are open to employees at designated times. And don't forget the RRMC Team Up for Wellness Fitness Challenge for June.
