Innovation is in our DNA. The Center for Excellence in Aging and Lifelong Health has extensive experience in client care as well as clinical research. Riverside CEALH's research department was established in 2006. Since then, CEALH's highly trained research professionals have conducted dozens of research studies on a wide spectrum of chronic diseases. Through the Health Research Department, we examine issues of dementia, behavioral health, community services, and caregiver support and education. In addition, each member of CEALH's research staff holds a certification in clinical research—this specialized training sets CEALH apart as a facility trained specifically for conducting clinical research.

Since its inception, Riverside CEALH has conducted more than 30 clinical trials, designed to explore and evaluate new treatments and medications that may benefit older adults. Riverside CEALH also directs the Program for Research on Aging, an ongoing research program in collaboration with the College of William and Mary, Virginia Commonwealth University and other academic institutions seeking to better understand how communities can assist older adults in maintaining independence with dignity.

And through Riverside CEALH's nationally-recognized "Caring for You, Caring for Me" program, caregivers are taught ways to cope with the stresses that often come with caregiving and provided with resources that help them discover ways to reduce barriers in the caregiving experience. Since the program began in 2008, more than 4,000 caregivers, care receivers, support group leaders and professionals have benefited from this program.

Whether you are looking for reassurance concerning your health, interested in participating in a clinical trial, or wanting to volunteer in the community, CEALH functions to meet your exact needs. You can feel confident that our experts have the knowledge, understanding and compassion to exceed your expectations in every capacity.
