Nichole Alford, Rehab Tech with PACE

PACE has a warm, intimate atmosphere where the participants are loved and workers are valued as part of a large family. At this facility, we, the staff, are truly concerned about the participants well-being so we work hard and help them strengthen their abilities in Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy. I have an awesome supervisor that makes all the difference in the world.  As a Rehabilitation Technician, I take pride in assisting the participants in carrying out their treatment programs.  Some of my duties include transporting participants to therapy area, setting patients up on equipment, assisting with the application of modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation, demonstrating therapeutic exercise and making participants feel welcome and comfortable.

Nicole Alford (PACE)

It takes a special person to be a part of the PACE family, you have to be caring, show love and affection for our participants.  I have been with PACE for 1 year and 5 months.  Since I have become a team member of PACE I have advanced in areas of my career path, such as, when I first came to PACE I was a Universal Care Partner Aide for the center; within a year I advanced to a Rehab Tech. If the opening is there, you have great opportunities to grow your career within PACE. The most important thing I love about my job is the reason we are all here, our participants. I love coming to work especially after having a day off.  I walk in the dayroom, and the participants are all waiting patiently for breakfast to be served. I walk in and greet everyone; they all ask questions such as: How are you? Is everything okay? I miss you, and I am glad to see you back. I believe in this type of work, you want to feel a sense of belonging and create happiness for our participants and our co-workers. It is a humbling experience and that’s why I come to work everyday with a smile on my face.
