Admissions Coordinator
Riverside Behavioral Health Center (RBHC) located in Hampton, Virginia is currently seeking a Part Time Admissions Coordinator. Job Summary: This position must demonstrate by education and/or training a background in the assessment of children, adolescents, and adults seeking psychiatric and/or chemical dependency treatment. The Admission Coordinator conducts assessments on children, adolescents and adults at Riverside Behavioral Health Center, a 24 hour facility, providing all levels of behavioral health care. This position also coordinates with Riverside Health System regarding referrals for assessment and/or admission at RBHC. This position conducts precertification with third party payers, is able to demonstrate empathy, while assessing the client/family needs in a timely manner, and compliance with legal issues and patient rights. This position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served, initiating age appropriate treatment and aftercare plans, utilizing knowledge of community resources. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs. The Admissions Coordinator works under the supervision of the Director of Admissions/Care Management and may be required to work in varying shifts and other areas according to patient and departmental needs. Works under the direct supervision of the Cardiovascular Radiology manager and lead technologist, the Cath Interventional Specialist performs a variety of duties related to cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, and neuro radiology procedures. Coordinates procedure specific patient care based on the age, physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity needs of the patient. Promotes a safe work environment for staff, as well as, for the customers while incorporating national patient safety initiatives. Court Services Care Manager
Riverside Health System is currently seeking a part-time Court Services Care Manager. This position must demonstrate by education and/or training a background in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults seeking psychiatric and/or chemical dependency treatment. The Court Services Care Manager supervises the juvenile and adult civil commitment process and the Judicial Authorization process at Riverside Behavioral Health Center. This role serves as the point of contact for CSBs, Hampton General District Court, law enforcement, and other mental health professionals. The position performs Utilization Review activities to include review of admissions and continued stay reviews for medical necessity, using approved criteria, completes all medical record documentation and other written assignments outlined in the department/hospital policy. This position must be able to provide therapeutic support to patients and their families through the assessment and commitment process. Continuity of care is ensured by providing copies of the aftercare plan to providers. In addition, the Care Manager identifies opportunities to improve quality and decrease cost in all areas of responsibility through an interdisciplinary approach and maintains positive interpersonal relations through professional interactions and communications. ED Lead/Monitor Emergency Technician
Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, Charge Nurse, and the medical direction of the Emergency Department Physician. Is responsible for mointoring all alarms, call bells, and ambulance traffic that enters the ED. The Monitor Tech performs as a "charge tech" role within the department in conjunction with the lead physician and the charge nurse/clinical coordinator. Along with monitoring the cardiac monitor and alarms, the tech is responsible for answering and following up on all call bell alarms, answers and responds to the EMS radio with incoming patients, assigns them to a location within the department, and communicates with the team about the patients they should be expecting. Tech should be confortable with regional EMS protocols and guidelines. Monitor tech also controls traffic and bed placement when patients are placed in the internal waiting area. Assumes a back up function to the unit secretary when needed by answering ED phone lines and responding appropriately. Completion of the EMT I/P curriculum, Completion of PEMS regional protocol test and EKG course after start date. EMT I/P State of Viriginia Required. ED Support Services Tech
We are looking for dynamic Support Service Technician to join our Emergency Department at Riverside Regional Medical Center (RRMC). The Support Service Tech works under the supervision or the ED nurse manager and ED supervisor. This position performs routine and special blood collections according to established protocols and standard operation procedures. The position is also responsible for explaining specimen collection procedures and instructions to patients, nurses, physicians, etc. The SST may also be responsible for performing patients EKG's, ABG's, and placing patients on cardiac monitor. The SST must maintain patient confidentiality and properly identify patients according to guidelines set forth by the facility, (i.e. patient safety goals). This person is a vital member of the trauma team. Responsible for intravenous access and delivery of emergency blood samples. Also responsible for the delivery of blood products to the bedside staff for use in a trauma or critical patient. This position is responsible for maintaining proper inventory in the department and for keeping appropriate stock levels. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalence preferred. CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: ASCP or equivalent certification preferred. EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in blood collection techniques and knowledge of laboratory medical terminology preferred.
