CT Technologist
Works under the supervision of a qualified physician, Imaging Service director and/or the management staff Works within their defined skill sets and utilizes established policies and protocols to perform a variety of imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Functioning as a team member, the technologist is flexible in the work assignments, rotates to support all aligned imaging facilities when needed and assists with training. Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of equipment, instrumentation and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care. Requires utilization of simple to complex equipment. Requires independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply safety and ALARA standards as applicable. Assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Responsible for necessary quality control performance and documentation that supports accreditation initiatives. Maintains medical imaging credentials as defined by the Qualification requirements policy of Imaging services. Complies with National Patient Safety Goals, HIPAA guidelines, and Corporate Compliance polices. Participates in quality and customer service programs and meets all CBL,CME requirements. This employee must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient serviced by his or her assigned department. The Care Management Department at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia has a labor pool position available for a Care Coordinator - Registered Nurse. Riverside Home Care provides services to our patients while they are cared for in their homes. This position provides instruction to patients and/or caregivers on the proper use of equipment and/or respiratory care procedures. Ensures patients and/or caregivers can effectively operate and maintain equipment. Responsible for routine patient follow-up contacts based on individual needs. Responds to emergency calls on an on-call basis. Provides and operates various types of respiratory care equipment including but not limited to oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, and CPAP/BiPAP. Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition. Prepares and maintains a record for each patient containing all pertinent information, care plans, physician prescriptions and follow-up documentation. Consults with referring physician regarding patient treatment, medical condition and home environment. Participates in ongoing education and training sessions regarding respiratory patient care. Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor. Must be a Board Certified Respiratory Therapist or a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Current, valid Virginia licensure for RCP required. Works under the supervision of the Support Services tech and ED nurse manager and ED supervisor. This position performs routine and special blood collections according to established protocols and standard operation procedures. The position is also responsible for explaining specimen collection procedures and instructions to patients, nurses, physicians, etc. The SST may also be responsible for performing patients EKG's, ABG's, and placing patients on cardiac monitor. the SST must maintain patient confidentiality and properly identify patients according to guidelines set forth by the facility, (i.e. patient safety goals). This position is responsible for maintaining proper inventory in the department and for keeping appropriate stock levels in the collection basket. The SST is also responsible for printing, monitoring, and distributing patient reports to proper locations. The SST is required to follow all quality control and quality assurance guidelines established in the department to include accurate performance of job duties with proper documentation. The SST is responsible for effective intradepartmental and interdepartmental communications to include such items as shift to shift hand off pending collection inquiries and resolutions. High school diploma or equivalence preferred. ASCP or equivalent certification required. Previous experience in collection techniques preferred. Knowledge of laboratory medical terminology preferred. Working knowledge of computers.
