The Clinical Informatics Specialist integrates clinical, computer, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom to ensure that the clinical requirements of clinical practice/process are clearly integrated into the clinical application systems. The role is responsible for representing and facilitating support of clinical practice when participating in the planning, development, coordination of training, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of clinical information systems. Actively participates in the development, prioritization, and determination of core clinical decision-support systems by working with end-users and the team to develop system programming requirements while understanding system capabilities and limitations. Identifies system or application issues, makes recommendations for, and implements solutions. Collaborates with other health care technology and clinical leaders to ensure that clinical-related systems support interoperability and transportability of clinical information while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality. The role is responsible for facilitating communication from the clinical end users across the patient care areas while working collaboratively and directly with system teams, system vendors, and technical experts. The role works to optimize the clinical design to meet the needs of a large group of interdisciplinary end users, including physicians, nurses, ancillary, clinical, and administrative staff. The role participates on clinical application workgroups/teams, and process improvement initiatives. Promotes teamwork through appropriate deployment of process, technical, and human resources in collaboration with Departmental, Regional, and Health System leaders and project managers. Participates in evaluation, review and revision of clinical and information system policies to increase standardization, decrease duplication, and improve efficiency and productivity. Educational Requirements Masters Degree Nursing/Informatics or related field of study. Graduation from an accredited college with current licensure as a Registered Nurse preferred. Certification/Licensure Requirements Licensed RN in the state of VA. ANCC Informatics Nursing Certification or Certification in related field of study required for RN Experience Requirements Minimum of three years working in direct care in an acute care setting. Must demonstrate proficiency using the computer enhanced patient care. Strong organizational, project management, team building and excellent customer service skills.

Riverside Health System is seeking a full time Intermediate Programmer Analyst. The Intermediate Programmer Analyst works under general supervision, formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs , documents and maintains those programs. Works directly with physicians, advisory committees and the Riverside VP of Clinical Informatics to analyze clinical processes and quality standards in order to adapt them via their programming skills to a highly integrated information system. Ensures that the design of the clinical content facilitates providers ability to document in accordance with necessary data capture, billing/coding requirements and quality reporting. Supports I. S. Physician Services adjunct applications and systems. Performs data mining and report writing. Works under the supervision of the I. S. Physician Services Director and Manager. Custom Section Educational Requirements Previous programming preferred. working in medical informatics or a medical practice using EMR preferred. Possess at minimum a moderate understanding of medical terminology. Experience Requirements Moderate-extensive programming preferred. Riverside Health System located in Newport News, Virginia is currently seeking a full time Systems Analyst to join the Supply Chain Management team. The Systems Analyst works under the supervision of the Supply Chain Management leadership team. Provides direct technical and operational support for the Supply Chain Management operations which includes Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Value Analysis, Inventory Control, Data Analytics and Print Services. The Systems Analyst is responsible for management of assigned projects, software implementations, system upgrades, database maintenance, application testing and advanced statistical data reporting. Experience with Lawson- Information Enterprise Resource Planning System, Par Excellence, PICIS, PYXIS, Premier, Global Health Exchange (GHX), Electronic Data Exchange (EDI), Image Now and Crystal Reporting preferred. The System Analyst is required to create financial reports and educational manuals. This position requires strong project management, business acumen, analytical, communication and presentation skills to effectively work with our RHS Finance, Marketing, Revenue Cycle, Information Systems and Senior Leadership teams. Performs other duties as assigned. Ideal candidates should have advanced computer skills. Strong technical and analytical skills are essential to support the variety of applications maintained by the Supply Chain Analyst team. Strong technical skills not limited to the following areas: Relational databases, Microsoft Office applications, Crystal Reporting and experience with Financial/Billing systems. Systems Analyst Nutrition Services
Riverside Health System located in Newport News, VA is seeking a full time Systems Analyst-Nutrition Services. The System Analyst-Nutrition Services reports to the System Director of Nutrition Services for Riverside Health System. Works independently to support the dietary applications on multiple platforms. Job duties include all aspects of application support, analysis and reporting. The duties require good communication skills at all levels of the health system to include each Facility Administrator and other executive levels. Must have the ability to collaborate with multiple arms of nutrition services as well as strong understanding of food operations and have strong technical and project management skills. Will work closely with IS, Finance, and Supply Chain Management. The job requires an ability to quickly learn and understand the customer business needs and processes. A nutrition services background is preferred with experience in implementing food systems or other IT systems. The duties include analyzing data, data manipulation, programming, maintaining application tables and profiles, developing and executing test plans, reporting, and documentation. Will be responsible for the maintenance of POS, clinical nutrition systems, inventory management, production management and other systems as assigned. In addition to these skills the job requires the ability to make sure all applications are backed up regularly and have minimal downtime. The job requires the ability to work well with all team members and customers in the health system to include travel to off-site locations. Education Requirements Associates Degree Required. Bachelors Degree preferred. Experience Requirements Three to five years Computers/Information Technology Programmer/Analyst required. Three to five years working in Nutrition Services preferred. Strong technical and analytical skills that are essential to support application on multiple platforms. Strong technical skills are encouraged but not limited-the following area: Relational databases, CBORD, HealthTouch, Blue Print Menu, MM Hayes, SQL, SQLPLUS, ACCESS, EXCEL, WORD, UNIX, Java, scripting languages, Crystal reporting, and experience with Financial/Billing systems such as Meditech, Lawson, Soarian, HealthMEDX, etc.
