This position works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager. The Birth Registrar is responsible for carrying out all policies and procedures associated with validating identity source documents electronically and recording mandated information into a Electronic Birth Certificate Program database for all patients who have delivered a newborn. Ensures to report infant births to the State Bureau of Vital Statistics and report required reportable congential birth defects to the Department of Health. High school diploma or higher level of education required. Previous experience with medical insurance billing helpful. Notary public required.

Coordinates scheduling of Surgical Cases with surgeons using appropriate guidelines and regulations to ensure smooth flow of surgical operations. Submits all statistical and related information for block booking and departmental OR liaison committees. Works closely with the office surgery schedules to accommodate the surgical needs of a wide variety of surgeons. Supports the educational needs of new staff members associated with the surgical scheduling. Produces a daily surgical schedule with the operating room Clinical Coordinator. High School/GED certificate required. A minimum of two years experience required with surgical scheduling. Experience with Microsoft and Excel programs required.
