Responsible for following all policies and procedures associated with the coding classification schemes to assign diagnostic and procedural codes to the trauma patient population. Responsible for overseeing trauma registry activity, including maintenance of a comprehensive trauma registry meeting the requirements of the Virginia Trauma Designation process. Additionally, this individual coordinates the collection and analysis of statistical data related to the clinical outcomes for the designated patient populations, supporting the JCAHO initiatives for outcomes research.
