Health and Medical
Riverside offers health insurance coverage to eligible team members and their eligible family members using pre-tax dollars. You and Riverside share in the cost of the coverage.
Optional dental coverage is available for eligible team members and their eligible family members using pre-tax dollars. Choose from two different dental plan options.
Flexible Spending Accounts for Medical Care
Medical Care Flexible Spending Accounts offer the opportunity for you to set up a personal account with pre-tax dollars to pay for out-of-pocket medical care expenses.
Extended Illness Bank (EIB) / Sick Leave
This benefit provides income protection if you are unable to perform your job due to illness or injury.
Family Medical Leave Act
Team members are eligible to apply for a leave of absence. Qualifying team members may be granted a leave of absence under Family and Medical Leave Act guidelines as defined by the US Department of Labor. See: "Employee Rights and Responsibilities Under the Family and Medical Leave Act."
Disability Insurance provides income protection if you are unable to perform your job due to an illness or injury that lasts more than 90 days.
Our team members can receive annual seasonal flu shots at no cost. Our Human Resources departments have additional information on this benefit.
Riverside's team member wellness program encourages healthy lifestyles by offering exercise classes, nutrition sessions and other wellness activities.
Wellness and Fitness Center Discounts
Riverside team members can take advantage of a discounted membership rate when they join Riverside Wellness and Fitness Centers.
If your family meets the criteria for Family Access to Medical Insurance Security Plans, a Total Rewards staff member or Human Resources representative will help you complete the application and answer any questions you have. FAMIS provides access to quality health services for children of working families.
Retirement Savings Plan
The Riverside Health System Retirement Savings Plans are designed to give team members a simple, tax-effective means to save for retirement. If you are eligible, you may also receive matching contributions from Riverside.
Learning and Development

Help Fund for Riverside Team Members
The Help Fund assists Riverside team members who experience a disaster or personal loss through no fault of their own. Employees may request funds to help cover unexpected costs such as: house fire damage repair, emergency shelter needs, funeral expenses, flood or hurricane damage repair, and similar expenses. A group of Riverside team members make the funding decisions, dependent on the qualified needs of the team member and the availability of assets held by the Fund.
DollarSmart Discount Program

Child Development and Learning Center
Team members are eligible to use the accredited Riverside Child Development and Learning Center at very competitive rates. The center, located in the City Center/Oyster Point area of Newport News, offers children a stimulating, safe, and educational environment.

Meals at discount prices are available for team members in the on-site cafeterias at larger Riverside facilities.
