The Riverside Diagnostic Center Oyster Point has been designated a "Breast Imaging Center of Excellence" by the Commission on Quality and Safety and the Commission on Breast Imaging.  This award is given to facilities that are fully accredited in Mammography by the ACR (or an FDA-approved state accrediting body), Stereotactic breast biopsy by the ACR, and Breast ultrasound by the ACR (including the ultrasound-guided breast biopsy module).

There are 8,309 facilities accredited in mammography in the United States and only 158 have been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. In Virginia there are 186 mammography facilities accredited and only 4 that have received this very special award.
