Dr. James McCorry Appointed Service Line Chief for Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg

James_McCorryNewport News, VA — Dr. James McCorry has been tapped to take on the role of Service Line Chief for the Riverside Doctor's Hospital in Williamsburg, scheduled to open First quarter 2013. As Service Line Chief, Dr. McCorry will be responsible for formulating long- and short-term goals and objectives, plans and programs for the new hospital. Service Lines are led by a Physician Chief partnered with a non-physician Administrator who are directly responsible for the quality of patient care and medical outcomes achieved.

Dr. McCorry currently serves as the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Riverside Tappahannock Hospital. He has previously served as Assistant Medical Director at the Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News and as Regional Medical Director for Team Health—one of the nation's largest providers of hospital-based clinical outsourcing services.

Once opened, Riverside Doctors' Hospital will be a two-story, approximately 100,000-square-foot facility situated on a 25-acre campus at the intersection of Route 199 and Route 60. It is licensed for 40 private rooms, including 34 Medical/Surgical rooms and six Intensive Care rooms.

The full-service Emergency Department will have 12 private patient rooms, in addition to two Surgical Services Operating Rooms with eight private patient preparation and recovery rooms.

As an 18-year resident of Williamsburg, Dr. McCorry is looking forward to his new position and to the exceptional quality and care this new hospital will be able to provide for Williamsburg and surrounding areas.
